Who are we
The International Commodores Association fills a unique role in yacht club leadership by bringing together current
flag officers and past commodores of recognized yacht clubs that are just like yours.
Clubs throughout the world are facing the same crisis: their membership
rolls continue to decline while their expenses increase.Young people, members of "Generation X" and "Generation
Y," have less free time and fewer discretionary dollars for club life than previous generations. And they exhibit a phenomenon
many social scientists have described, but none has explained: the X'ers and Y'ers are less inclined than their parents
to join organized groups.

Our Vision and Mission Our vision is to be the premier
Commodores organization which fosters the healthy continuation of the yachting community and the preservation of its customs,
courtesies and traditions through education. Our mission
is to charter associations consisting of past and current officers of yacht clubs and other yachting organizations who have
mutual interests and goals; who wish to foster the recognition of yachting traditions, ceremonies, customs, ethics and etiquette:
and who wish to interact with other members for their betterment and to provide educational material to chartered associations
within the ICA that will cultivate, strengthen, perpetuate and preserve the yachting traditions and foster charitable and
social programs for the benift of the yachting community
